Job summary

Republic Services in Winston-Salem is seeking a Maintenance Technician A to perform repairs and preventive maintenance on diesel and non-diesel fleet equipment. Under supervision from a Lead Technician or Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you will work on chassis, refuse bodies, air brake and electrical systems to keep our trucks on the road.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of heavy-truck technician experience, a valid license, and the ability to diagnose multi-system issues with diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
• 5-7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in several heavy truck systems.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.
• Class B or higher CDL is a plus but not required.
• Preferred CDL B

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair chassis components, refuse bodies, and associated hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Repair engines and diagnose diesel fuel systems and fuel diagnostics.
• Service suspension, driveline, and steering systems.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC and aftertreatment systems; perform electrical diagnostics with tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication; identify malfunctions using electronic tools.
• Complete required company training programs and perform other duties as assigned.
