Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is expanding its civil construction team and seeks a Lead Estimator to prepare detailed estimates from plans, specs, and scopes of work. This remote role supports our self-perform heavy civil business and requires familiarity with heavy civil projects, cost estimating, and risk assessment.

Travel may be required from time to time. Ideal candidates will collaborate with field and office professionals, perform quantity takeoffs, source subcontractor quotes, and ensure timely

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering is required.
• Experience in self-perform contracting of civil infrastructure scopes of work.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work, and schedules.
• Must be able to obtain necessary clearance to access military installations if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates including crew assemblies and production rates.
• Furnish accurate quantity takeoff information for detailed material lists and cost assessments.
• Identify, source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best value partnerships.
• Identify, quantify, and evaluate risks and plan how operations will address them.
• Collaborate with field and office professionals to prepare each estimate.
• Meet interim milestones for constructability and productivity reviews to meet deadlines.
• Support constructability reviews with project team, designers, and subcontractors.
• Interact with Operations to support post-award needs and site conditions.
