Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator to join our civil construction team. The role focuses on producing detailed estimates from plans, specs, and scopes of work for self-perform heavy civil projects.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of heavy civil estimating experience, a bachelor’s degree in CM or civil eng, and familiarity with Bid2Win or HCSS. Remote work is possible with EST/CST alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering is required.
• 10+ years estimating experience in the heavy civil construction industry.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
• Familiarity with spreadsheets and CPM scheduling; estimating software such as Bid2Win (B2W), HCSS Heavy Bid.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates including crew assemblies and production rates.
• Furnish accurate quantity takeoff information for detailed material lists and cost assessments.
• Identify, source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes for best-value partnerships.
• Identify and evaluate risks and develop mitigation plans.
• Prepare inquiries to clients regarding drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with field and office teams to prepare each estimate.
• Meet interim milestone reviews and recalibrate submissions as needed.
• Support constructability reviews with project team and subcontractors.
• Obtain and vet subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure full scope coverage.
• Interact with operations post-award for alternates and site conditions.
