Job summary

SES Constructors LLC is seeking a Lead Estimator for its growing civil construction line. The role emphasizes detailed estimates from plans and specs with a strong focus on self-perform civil work. Responsibilities include quantity takeoffs, subcontractor quotes, risk assessment, and collaboration with field and office teams.

The position is remote, requiring EST or CST, with potential travel. A bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering and federal project estimating

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree, preferably in construction management or civil engineering, is required.
• Field experience in self-perform contracting of civil infrastructure scopes (earthwork, utilities, dewatering, road work, dam/levee, pavement) is required.
• Experience estimating federal projects is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs and schedules; proficient with spreadsheets and word processing; CPM scheduling and estimating software experience.

Responsibilities

• Produce self-perform heavy civil cost estimates including crew assemblies and production rates for various project sizes and scopes.
• Provide detailed quantity takeoff information to list materials and estimate total costs.
• Source and analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to determine best-value partnerships.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation plans with the project team.
• Collaborate with in-house field and office professionals during estimate preparation.
• Meet milestone reviews to ensure timely submission and calibration of estimates.
• Support constructability reviews and vet subcontractor pricing for comprehensive coverage.
• Interact with Operations post-award to plan alternates and handle site condition variations.
