Job summary

Granite Construction Company seeks an experienced estimator to develop accurate bids for private and public works from $50 to $100 million. Projects include structural concrete, underground, flatwork, water and more. Heavy Bid, Bluebeam and P6 experience are a plus.

This position can work out of the Tempe or Tucson office. The ideal candidate has 10+ years estimating experience with prior management, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office, AGTEK Take-off, Primavera Scheduling,

Qualifications

• Safety program administration and policy compliance

• Analyze and compile estimate data for labor, materials, and equipment
• Review drawings and site conditions for final estimates
• Analyze alternatives to improve bid competitiveness
• Review take-off quantities for data accuracy
• Apply advanced calculations to ensure cost accuracy
• Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with management
• Communicate bid information to field operations for scope clarity
• Develop relationships to increase regional bid opportunities
• Supervise estimating staff and mentor team members
• Lead Design-build preconstruction and means/method discussions

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and timely proposals and estimates for private and public sector works ($50M–$100M)
• Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to finalize estimates
• Present estimates to senior management and participate in bid reviews
• Coordinate with owners, subcontractors, and public/private entities to ensure competitiveness
• Mentor estimating staff and support Design-build preconstruction activities
• Lead means and methods discussions to drive innovative bid solutions
