Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to develop accurate proposals for private and public sector projects ranging from $50 to $100 million. You will lead bid strategy, review drawings and specifications, and coordinate with field teams to ensure competitive, high-quality estimates.

The role requires 10+ years of estimating experience, advanced knowledge of estimating software, civil engineering principles, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10+ years estimating experience in large-scale projects.
• Prior management experience required.
• Proficiency with MS Office, AGTEK Take-off, and Primavera Scheduling.
• Advanced knowledge of estimating software and civil engineering/principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of agency (U)DBE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and timely proposals and estimates for private and public sector works from $50 to $100 million.
• Lead bid reviews with senior management to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review drawings, specs, and site conditions; gather field input for final estimates.
• Analyze alternative construction methods to improve bid competitiveness.
• Review take-off quantities and use cost history to validate estimates.
• Present estimates and communicate bid information to field operations.
