Qualifications

• At least five years of healthcare billing experience with complex denials.
• Experience with EOBs and ERAs and denial codes.
• Knowledge of payer requirements and reimbursement processes.
• Proven ability to post payments accurately and reconcile accounts.
• Ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex denied claims, investigate root causes, and resubmit timely.
• Post high volumes of payments and reconcile remittance records.
• Review EOBs/ERAs to identify payment discrepancies and resolution strategies.
• Follow up on denials and underpayments through payer portals and calls.
• Prepare comprehensive appeals based on payer requirements and regulations.
• Investigate discrepancies and escalate high-impact cases as needed.
• Maintain accurate billing records and ensure audit readiness.
• Prioritize billing queues and coordinate with teammates for timely resolutions.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend workflow improvements.
• Serve as SME for complex billing issues and mentor teammates.
• Follow SOPs and regulatory requirements while identifying efficiency opportunities.
