Job summary

CVS Health inside Meritain Health is seeking an Underwriting professional to support pricing and stop-loss strategies for a nationwide book of business. This fully remote role offers collaboration with Sales, Client Management and internal partners to optimize plan design and costs.

Responsibilities include preparing quotations, building financial projections in Excel and Salesforce, and presenting outcomes to customers and stakeholders while upholding accuracy and service standards.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of medical insurance experience (brokers, carriers, TPAs)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Collaborative with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Guide pricing and stop-loss strategies with Sales and Client Management teams.
• Prepare quotations and other financial deliverables meeting established departmental TAT goals.
• Prepare financial projections on prospects using Excel and Salesforce.
• Market and place stop-loss policies; negotiate terms based on claims data and costs.
• Collaborate with leadership to understand impacts for custom requests.
• Manage and interpret operational data for fee development and financial analysis.
• Present to internal/external customers and partners.
• Demonstrate understanding of Meritain products and services; maintain business knowledge.
• Develop presentations for existing and prospective customers and partners; align product mix to reduce total cost of care.
• Assist sales and client management in explaining rates and underwriting terms to clients.
