Job summary

The Maryland Department of Health’s Developmental Disabilities Administration in Laurel seeks an investigator responsible for reviewing and triaging complex reports of abuse, neglect, injuries of unknown origin and other incidents within the region. You will coordinate onsite investigations, document reviews, interviews, and produce written conclusions and recommendations.

Travel across the assigned region is required, and you will work with QE staff, RN colleagues, and external provider

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Experience: Two years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.
• Notes: Substitutions allowed: 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for required experience; military service as a commissioned officer in health care administration or civil affairs in health-related field for required experience/education.

Responsibilities

• Review and triage investigations for assigned region; report incidents of abuse, neglect, injuries of unknown origin, unexpected deaths, police involvement, and restraints.
• Conduct onsite reviews, document reviews, and interviews; prepare written reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Collaborate with QE staff, QE RN, Regional RN and other coordinators to address concerns identified during investigations.
