Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Hardware Systems Architect to define and lead the end-to-end hardware architecture for our next-generation satellite user terminal. You will own system-level design across RF antenna arrays, high-speed digital processing, power systems, and mechanical integration.

You will drive the technical roadmap, make critical architecture trade-offs, and guide a cross-functional engineering team to deliver a high-performance, cost-optimized product at scale.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a highly related technical field.
• 10+ years of hardware engineering experience, with 4+ years as Principal/Lead Architect delivering complex wireless/satellite products.
• Deep understanding of phased array antenna physics, beamforming, high-speed buses, and RF front-ends.
• Experience defining layout constraints for multi-layer mixed-signal boards with SI/EMI focus.
• Proven track record in hardware for high-volume manufacturing and supply chain trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end hardware architecture for the user terminal, including RF, digital, power, and mechanical interfaces.
• Evaluate and select critical components balancing performance, power, and BOM cost.
• Lead cross-functional teams to resolve multi-disciplinary interface challenges.
• Define thermal management and high-voltage power delivery for beamforming states.
• Drive hardware through lifecycle from architecture to mass manufacturing with CM/suppliers.
• Establish metrics, validation plans, and compliance for wireless deployment (FCC/CE/ETSI).
