Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Director to lead hardware, embedded software, and systems engineering for next-generation satellite ground RF gateways. You will own architecture across RF, digital, power, thermal, firmware, and manufacturing domains, guiding prototype-to-mass-production, with collaboration across manufacturing, supply chain, operations, and quality.

The role requires 10+ years in hardware and embedded systems, including 6+ years of leadership, plus strong experience with contract

Qualifications

• Over 10 years in hardware and embedded systems development, incl. 6+ years leading technical teams.
• Proven success bringing complex connected hardware from prototype to mass production.
• Strong background in embedded systems, board design, system integration, and production test.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware, embedded software, and systems engineering teams.
• Define product architecture across RF, digital, power, thermal, firmware, and manufacturing domains.
• Drive design to manufacturability, testability, reliability, and cost.
• Partner with manufacturing and supply chain to transfer designs to contract manufacturers.
• Own system-level integration, bring-up, and validation strategy for hardware and firmware.
• Build and mentor a high-performing team; manage external partners.
