Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Senior Hardware Lead for the Air Traffic Systems (ATS) team in Marlborough, MA. You will drive hardware design for COTS-based ATC solutions, oversee the full lifecycle, and lead cross-functional collaboration to meet stringent performance and security requirements.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee rigorous testing, and contribute to BOEs and EACs while ensuring delivery within budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 10+ years' experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years.
• Proven track record leading hardware development from concept to production within budgets and schedules.
• Strong experience with COTS hardware infrastructure design and testing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to present complex technical information.
• Experience with EVMS including EACs, LRE, and variance narratives.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hardware design and development efforts for COTS-based ATC programs, ensuring the highest levels of performance, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Software, Systems, Supply chain, and Quality to deliver integrated solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Oversee the entire hardware development lifecycle, from concept through production and deployment, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Oversee rigorous testing and validation of hardware components to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
• Interface with Program Management, hardware engineers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical updates, and ensure satisfaction with delivered products.
• Contribute performance inputs to hardware activities such as monthly variance reviews, quarterly Estimate at Complete (EAC) reviews, etc.
• Serve as a hardware lead for proposal estimation and writing, including Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
