Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a senior Hardware Lead to drive design and development for ATC and weather data systems. You will manage COTS-based hardware, lead integration with software and systems teams, and mentor engineers across the lifecycle from concept to deployment.

The role emphasizes strong EVMS practices, cost control, and collaboration with program management to meet schedules and customer specs. This is a hybrid U.S.-based position within RTX’s ATS organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 10+ years, or an advanced degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Proven track record leading hardware development projects from concept to production while managing budgets and schedules.
• Strong understanding of COTS hardware infrastructure design, including selection and testing of processors and networking equipment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• US citizenship is required for access to information under these programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design and development for COTS-based ATC programs with focus on performance, reliability and security.
• Collaborate with Software, Systems, Supply Chain and Quality to deliver integrated solutions meeting customer requirements.
• Oversee the hardware development lifecycle from concept through production and deployment, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Oversee testing and validation to ensure compliance with standards and customer specs.
• Interface with Program Management, hardware engineers and stakeholders to gather requirements and report progress.
• Contribute performance inputs to EVMS reviews and basis of estimates for proposals.
