Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer for optical transceivers in Horsham, PA. You will own PCB hardware from concept to release for 1.2T/1.6T platforms, driving architecture, schematics, and validation with RF, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.

The role requires robust experience in high-speed digital/analog design, PADS schematic capture, component qualification, and SI/PI best practices. Hybrid onsite support in Horsham is expected.

Qualifications

• This position requires 5+ years of board-level hardware design experience.
• This role prefers experience with optical transceiver hardware and hyperscale programs.
• Ability to read complex datasheets and select suitable components for high-speed designs.
• Experience with interfaces exceeding 100 GHz is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own PCB hardware design from concept to release and sign-off.
• Lead board-level architecture and detailed design for 1.2T and 1.6T platforms.
• Develop complete schematics from scratch using PADS.
• Evaluate, qualify, and select high-performance components.
• Ensure signal and power integrity across high-speed interfaces.
• Collaborate with RF, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams.
