Qualifications

• 8+ years in embedded software (may be 5+ for strong candidates)
• Expert-level C and C++ for embedded systems
• Experience with Linux‑based multi‑process/multi‑threaded designs
• Familiarity with Agile development practices and CI/CD workflows

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software features based on high‑level requirements.
• Develop new software/firmware features for optical networking products.
• Resolve bugs and sustaining issues in legacy embedded products.
• Collaborate with validation, integration, hardware, optical, and test eng. teams.
• Ensure firmware/docs are accurate and up to date.
• Apply system software concepts like BSP, photonic control, alarms, service mgmt.
• Participate in Agile planning, code reviews, CI/CD, and CD activities.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers on design, implementation, testing, and coding standards.
• Drive and participate in code reviews to promote best practices.
• Engage in pre‑sales and post‑sales technical interactions with customers.
• Provide technical guidance to Field Application Engineers for deployments.
• Contribute to product/user documentation with technical input and reviews.
• Collaborate with cross‑site/global teams to coordinate development.
