Job summary

Parker Hannifin's Defense Systems Division in Irvine, CA seeks a Buyer II to procure direct and indirect materials, negotiate terms, and place POs at best total value per FAR/DFAR requirements. You will work with commodity leads and supplier quality to secure supply and quality.

Candidates have a BS/BA in a related field, 3–5 years of experience, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings; US citizenship and ITAR awareness are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• 3–5 years of applicable experience.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Experience purchasing COTS, services, and finished goods.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• US citizenship required.
• ITAR/FAR/DFAR knowledge preferred.
• Ability to negotiate long-term agreements and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Procure direct and indirect materials and manage procurement activities.
• Ensure supplier on-time delivery (OTD) and quality.
• Develop supplier management programs and monitor KPIs.
• Evaluate bids and select suppliers; negotiate price, delivery, and quality.
• Identify alternate sources to mitigate supply chain risks.
• Approve supplier invoice exceptions per procedures.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality issues.
• Lead bid preparation to support Pricing.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing desired.
