Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corp in Irvine, California, is seeking a strategic procurement and sourcing leader for the Defense Systems Division. This role directs procurement activities, drives lean processes, and partners with suppliers to secure cost-effective, reliable supply for manufacturing.

You'll lead long-term agreements, manage VMI programs, and develop supplier performance metrics while mentoring a team to sustain continuous improvement and margin expansion.

Qualifications

• MUST BE A US CITIZEN.
• Bachelor’s degree + 7+ years related experience.
• 4–6 years purchasing/managerial experience.
• Strong negotiation skills with long lead times (52 weeks).
• Understanding of aerospace markets for cost reduction.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs the Division's purchases of materials for manufacturing.
• Leads execution of long-term and strategic pricing agreements with suppliers.
• Leads and ensures VMI programs within the Division.
• Establishes supplier selection criteria based on price, quality, delivery, and compliance.
• Negotiates with suppliers to balance cost and continuity of supply.
• Develops continuous improvement programs with suppliers.
• Develops reorder procedures and contingency supplier backup plans.
• Drives best-practice benchmarking and KPI measurement of suppliers.
