Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a Purchasing Specialist for the SSO Division in Irvine, CA. You will secure best value through strategic sourcing, negotiate terms with suppliers, and coordinate timely delivery of high‑value parts while ensuring compliance with FAR/DFAR and related reporting.

You will partner with manufacturing to identify business needs, evaluate supplier capabilities, and manage complex procurement activities while driving continuous improvement and mentoring others on procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with practical purchasing knowledge.
• Typically six+ years of progressively responsible related experience.
• Experience with subcontracting plans and relevant reporting (ISRs/SSRs) is desired.
• Thorough knowledge of purchasing methods, principles and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Secure best overall quality, service and value through strategic sourcing and competitive bidding.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and cross‑functional teams to identify business needs and suppliers.
• Evaluate proposals, select suppliers for complex materials and services, and negotiate terms.
• Monitor supplier performance and lead action to resolve issues affecting delivery or quality.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR requirements and related reporting; coordinate export/import as needed.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and mentor junior staff on procurement processes.
