Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a Hardware Assurance Engineer (Level 3) to join the Mission Defense Team. The role involves assessing threats to hardware and firmware, performing vulnerability analyses, and ensuring secure design and implementation across programs with US government defense involvement.

Ideal candidates bring strong SSE knowledge, experience with MBSE tools, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly. This position requires U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a STEM field with 5 years of related experience; 3 years with Master’s; 1 year with PhD
• U.S. Citizenship with active DoD Secret Clearance; ability to obtain enhanced security clearances
• Minimum 5 years applying Systems Security Engineering to U.S. Government Defense Programs
• Proven ability to communicate technical approaches clearly and effectively
• Demonstrated experience with vulnerability management and SSE concepts

Responsibilities

• Assess threats, vulnerabilities, and risk for hardware and firmware components
• Research data, derive facts, and identify vulnerabilities
• Participate in working groups and customer meetings; communicate risk to stakeholders
• Contribute to hardware assurance program plans, goals, and milestones
• Review security assessments for vulnerabilities and non-compliance with standards
• Support design and integration of secure systems and components
• Assist MDT in additional duties as assigned
