Job summary

Recruiting from Scratch LLC is hiring a Senior Engineer for the Growth Pod to own backend and frontend experiences that turn a new sign-up into an active, paying customer. You’ll build the services and screens that guide users from discovery to checkout, while analyzing activation and churn in real time.

This role collaborates with Product, Data, and Risk, requires strong judgment, and involves working with identity verification and payment data.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of backend product engineering experience with ownership of funnel-critical services.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve backend services behind onboarding, verification, activation, and the sign-up-to-purchase funnel (likely in TypeScript/Node.js).
• Design and build event-driven, workflow-orchestrated systems that evaluate account state continuously and trigger actions automatically.
• Integrate with identity verification, KYB/KYC, and fraud/risk providers with resilient, well-monitored integrations.
• Handle credit and payment data responsibly as part of personalization and reactivation logic.
• Design and run experiments with guardrail metrics to improve referrals, reactivation offers, and onboarding changes.
• Write SQL and work directly in the warehouse (Snowflake or similar) to diagnose funnel issues and perform cohort analysis.
• Tackle problems without an established playbook and help define the problem, not just solve a brief.
• Use AI agents to accelerate building/testing funnel services and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
