Job summary

Salesforce seeks a Staff Data Scientist to join the Slack Business Data Science team. You will leverage data to drive growth, partnering with Growth, Strategy, and PDE teams to deliver impactful analyses and models.

The role requires effective communication to senior leadership and a growth mindset. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in quantitative analysis, a BS in a quantitative field (MS/PhD a plus), and advanced SQL with Python/R/Scala.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of quantitative data analysis experience.
• BS in a quantitative field (e.g., CS, Economics, Physics); MS/PhD strong plus.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one DS language (Python, R, or Scala).
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, ML, and analytical problem-solving.
• Proven ability to communicate complex analyses to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Slack Growth teams to understand drivers and accelerate growth.
• Synthesize insights into narratives and present to senior leadership.
• Develop frameworks to identify patterns in customer behavior.
• Build self-service tools and reports to drive awareness of key metrics.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to power data models for analyses.
