Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join the Slack Business Data Science team, driving growth through data-informed insights. You will partner with Growth, Marketing, Go-To-Market, and PDE teams to identify opportunities, forecast performance, and deliver impactful analyses and models.

You will translate complex analytics for executives, develop reusable tools, and power self-serve insights across the organization, contributing to strategic decision making and scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional industry experience doing quantitative analysis.
• A BS degree in a quantitative field; an MS or PhD is a strong plus.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language for data science (Python/R/Scala).
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimentation, causal inference, ML, and analytical problem-solving.
• Proven ability to communicate complex analytical findings to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Slack Growth teams to understand drivers and accelerate growth.
• Synthesize insights into crisp narratives and present to senior leadership.
• Develop frameworks to identify patterns in customer behavior.
• Build self-service tools and reports to drive awareness of key metrics.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to power data models for analyses.
