The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is seeking a Senior Engineer, Grid Transition to study grid performance with high penetrations of intermittent generation and IBRs. You will support multiple teams in planning and operations, and contribute to innovative grid transition solutions.

Responsibilities include dynamic studies, reporting, and cross‑functional collaboration with NYISO departments and reliability councils.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; MS strongly preferred.
• Seven years of related experience in power system planning.

Responsabilités

• Perform dynamic and transient simulations (PSSE, EMT/PSCAD) for complex control systems.
• Assess impact of Inverter Based Resources on grid dynamics and develop mitigations.
• Develop engineering study reports, NYISO manuals and procedures.
