The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) seeks a Senior Engineer, Grid Transition to advance studies on a grid with significant intermittent generation and inverter-based resources. You will perform dynamic simulations, develop reports, and support planning and operations teams across NYISO.

In this role you will lead EMT/PSSE analyses, review models, and propose solutions for reliability, with onsite and flexible remote work options in a hybrid environment.

Competenze

• BS in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred for advanced power system work.
• 7+ years in power system planning or related fields.
• Proficiency with PSCAD/EMTP‑RV/PSS/E and related tools.
• Knowledge of IBR controls and reliability standards a plus.

Mansioni

• Perform dynamic and EMT studies to assess grid performance with high IBR penetration.
• Develop engineering study reports and NYISO procedures.
• Coordinate with planning and operations on grid models and scenarios.
• Present study results to stakeholders and committees.
