Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced power systems professional in Honolulu to lead EMT studies and PSCAD modeling for utility interconnections. You will collaborate with OEMs, produce executive-ready reports, and act as an SME for grid reliability and compliance.

The role requires 10+ years in power system modeling, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on PSCAD/PSS/E/RSCAD experience. Expect involvement in CHIL testing and industry stakeholder activities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in power system modeling, analysis, and studies.
• Strong knowledge of grid codes and utility interconnections.
• Experience with transmission grid reliability and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT studies including SSR, SSCI, ferro-resonance, TOV, SOV, TRV, harmonic analysis.
• Develop and tune PSCAD models in collaboration with OEMs to meet grid code requirements.
• Produce technical reports and presentations for executive audiences.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PSCAD modeling and special studies.
• Contribute to transmission grid reliability work and compliance.
• Attend industry stakeholder meetings and drive proactive changes.
• Stay updated on NERC, FERC procedures and policy changes.
• Support interconnection model development and review of utility deliverables.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NERC standards related to grid modeling.
• Support CHIL testing of BESS, fuel cells, or onsite generation technologies.
