Job summary

Oracle US is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead PSCAD modeling and grid studies for interconnection projects. You will develop and validate models, review reports, and present findings to executives.

The role requires 10+ years in power system modeling, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, and CHIL testing experience. Collaboration with OEMs and adherence to NERC/FERC procedures are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in power system modeling, analysis, and studies.
• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power systems focus.
• 5+ years of recent experience developing PSCAD models for utility interconnections.
• Experience with additional tools such as PSS/E, RSCAD, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory or similar platforms is preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, utility, and industry standards.
• Strong experience developing and validating generator, load, equipment, and inverter-based resource models.
• Experience in performing controller hardware in loop testing (CHIL) with BESS, Fuel cells, and protective relays

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT studies such as SSR, SSCI, ferro-resonance, TOV, SOV, TRV, harmonics, and other grid studies.
• Develop and tune PSCAD models with OEM collaboration to meet grid code requirements.
• Produce and review technical reports and executive presentations.
• Serve as SME for PSCAD modeling and transmission grid reliability.
• Stay up to date with NERC, FERC planning procedures, and policy changes.
• Attend industry stakeholder meetings and drive proactive changes.
• Support interconnection model development and review of utility deliverables.
• Maintain knowledge of NERC standards related to grid modeling.
• Contribute to team research and innovation activities.
