Job summary

Oracle is seeking a senior power systems modeling expert to lead EMT studies and PSCAD modeling for utility interconnections in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will collaborate with OEMs, develop and tune models, and translate complex analyses for executive audiences.

Responsibilities include delivering SME-level PSCAD work, staying current with NERC/FERC procedures, and contributing to industry dialogue. This role is based on-site in Utah with Oracle’s comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in power system modeling, analysis, and studies.
Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power systems focus.
5+ years of recent experience developing PSCAD models for utility interconnections.
Experience with tools such as PSS/E, RSCAD, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory or similar platforms is preferred.
Working knowledge of IEEE, IEC, CIGRE standards and utility practices.
Experience in CHIL testing with BESS, Fuel cells, and relays.

Responsibilities

Perform EMT studies (SSR, SSCI, ferro-resonance, TOV, SOV, TRV, harmonics, flicker) and related analyses.
Develop and tune PSCAD models with OEM collaboration to meet grid-code requirements.
Produce and review technical reports and present to executives.
Serve as SME for PSCAD modeling and grid reliability.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NERC standards and planning procedures.
Support interconnection model development and review utility deliverables.
