Job summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to drive EMT studies and PSCAD modeling for utility interconnections in the U.S. You will collaborate with OEMs to tune models, produce technical reports, and present complex analyses to executives.

The role requires 10+ years in power system modeling, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on experience with PSCAD, PSS/E, and DIgSILENT. Expect active participation in industry meetings and CHIL testing for energy storage systems.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of experience in power system modeling, analysis and studies.
• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power systems focus.
• Five+ years of recent experience developing PSCAD models for utility interconnections.
• Experience with tools such as PSS/E, RSCAD, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory or similar platforms.
• Working knowledge of IEEE, IEC, CIGRE standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT Studies including SSR, SSCI, ferro-resonance, TOV, SOV, TRV, harmonic and flicker analyses.
• Develop and tune PSCAD models in collaboration with OEMs.
• Produce and review technical reports and executive presentations.
• Serve as SME for PSCAD modeling and grid reliability.
• Attend industry stakeholder meetings and drive proactive changes.
• Stay updated on NERC/FERC planning procedures and policy changes.
• Support interconnection model development and review utilities’ technical deliverables.
• Maintain knowledge of NERC standards related to grid modeling.
• Contribute to team research and innovation activities.
• Support CHIL testing of BESS and other onsite generation technologies.
