Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to perform EMT studies and develop PSCAD models for utility interconnections.

You will collaborate with OEMs, produce technical reports for executives, and serve as SME on grid reliability, NERC standards, and CHIL testing with BESS or fuel cells.

This role requires 10+ years in power system modeling and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in power system modeling, analysis, and studies.
• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a power systems focus.
• 5+ years of recent experience developing PSCAD models for utility interconnections.
• Experience with additional tools such as PSS/E, RSCAD, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory or similar platforms is preferred.
• Working knowledge of applicable IEEE, IEC, CIGRE, utility, and industry standards.
• Strong experience developing and validating generator, load, equipment, and inverter-based resource models.
• Experience in performing controller hardware in loop testing (CHIL) with BESS, Fuel cells, and protective relays

Responsibilities

• Perform EMT studies including SSR, SSCI, ferro-resonance, TOV, SOV, TRV, and harmonic analysis.
• Develop and tune PSCAD models with OEMs to meet grid code requirements.
• Produce and review technical reports and executive presentations.
• Serve as SME for PSCAD modeling and transmission grid reliability.
• Attend industry stakeholder meetings and drive proactive changes.
• Stay updated on NERC, FERC procedures and policy changes.
• Support interconnection model development and review utility deliverables.
• Maintain knowledge of NERC standards related to grid modeling.
• Contribute to research and CHIL testing of BESS, fuel cells, etc.
