Job summary

Invenergy, LLC, headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to support grid modelling and compliance for generation and transmission facilities.

The role involves developing models with PSS/E/PSLF/PSCAD/Oneliner, tuning controllers with OEMs, and staying aligned with NERC/IEEE standards. On-site, with travel up to 15%, you will communicate findings to stakeholders and drive reliable energy projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in power system studies.
• Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD or ASPEN Oneliner.
• Knowledge of EHV/HV infrastructure and grid components.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform grid studies for power electronic and grid control of renewable generation and HVDC modeling.
• Develop power system models in PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, and Oneliner.
• Assist in tuning power plant controllers with OEMs to meet grid code requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NERC standards and related grid modeling practices.
• Support interconnection studies and provide engineering expertise to multiple stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed reports and present analyses and recommendations.
