Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is offering a hybrid position for experienced electrical distribution design professionals. You will contribute to drafting and design of distribution networks from 4 kV up to 34 kV, including over/underground layouts and support for maintenance and recapitalization programs.

Essential qualifications include 10+ years in distribution design, an engineering or drafting education, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Drafting, or engineering tech degree, or a high school diploma.
• Minimum of 10 years of distribution design experience.
• 7+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Knowledge of design techniques and production of technical plans and drawings.
• Familiar with codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Ability to visualize systems without the computer.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Develop Bills of Materials and estimates.
• Analyze and design priority feeds.
• Develop work packages to troubleshoot, repair, replace or modify electrical distribution systems.
• Plan system modifications and follow the work.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
