Job summary

Sargent & Lundy offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote days. You will join a project team of engineers and designers, preparing detailed drawings for distribution systems and supporting maintenance and capital projects.

The role requires significant distribution design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, and knowledge of industry codes. Relocation may be offered based on location and project needs.

Qualifications

• Requires 7+ years drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• Minimum 10 years of distribution design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize systems without CAD aid.
• Familiarity with design codes and standards (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE).
• Experience with complex overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34kV).
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution projects.
• Perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Develop Bills of Materials and estimates.
• Develop work packages to troubleshoot, repair, replace or modify electrical distribution systems.
• Plan modifications to the system and support maintenance/recapitalization of components.
