Job summary
Sargent & Lundy is seeking engineers for distribution design and project leadership in a hybrid role based in Chicago. You will prepare and review construction sketches for 4 kV–34 kV systems, participate in design reviews, and collaborate with client teams to ensure high-quality, compliant outcomes.
Ideal candidates hold an ABET-accredited engineering degree with 5+ years in electric utility distribution, and are proficient in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman, and PLS CADD.
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
- Five or more years in electric utility distribution or similar experience.
- Knowledge of distribution design methods, codes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare/review construction sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution (4 kV–34 kV).
- Review designs and lead project teams on upstream and midstream facilities.
- Participate in design reviews and hazard analyses; coordinate with client representatives.
- Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
- Develop work packages and provide construction support as needed.
