Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a senior drafting/engineering technician with extensive experience in electrical distribution design. The role involves preparing detailed sketches, plans, and bills of materials for 4 kV through 34 kV projects, while collaborating with engineers and designers in a hybrid work environment.

Candidates should have strong CAD skills (AutoCAD or MicroStation), knowledge of design standards, and a proven ability to visualize complex systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Drafting, and/or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, and/or a high school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution (4 KV through 34 KV).
• Create traffic control plans, permit drawings, structural facility drawings, equipment drawings, plans and profiles.
• Perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
• Develop bills of materials and estimates.
• Analyze and design priority feeds.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Plan system modifications.
• Develop work packages to troubleshoot, repair, replace or modify electrical distribution systems.
• Develop work packages and monitor progress.
