Job summary

American Heart Association is seeking a Sr. Grant Administrator to coordinate strategic, grant-funded operations within the Voices for Healthy Kids team. This role links program strategy with financial management, compliance, and operations to ensure timely deliverables and compliant, on-budget grant spending.

The position may supervise others and play a key part in end-to-end grant making, reporting to leadership and collaborating across departments, with home-based work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of meaningful experience.
• Strong accounting and budget management capabilities; experience with grants and nonprofit reporting.

Responsibilities

• Integrates grant requirements into the program and monitors processes; maintains records and systems for program management and reporting.
• Coordinates program budget development and facilitation with leadership, ensuring funder alignment and internal controls.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures; analyze financial activity and provide variance reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation guidance.
• Collaborates with finance, legal, operations, development, advocacy, and technology teams to ensure policy alignment.
• Develops and maintains internal controls and documentation for audit readiness and program management.
• Acts as Voices technology coordinator to optimize systems and tools for grantmaking and reporting.
• Builds strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and grantees to enable collaboration.
• Leads or contributes to cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination, analysis, and change management.
• Contributes to operational planning for grant-making with system enhancements to improve transparency and reduce burden.
• Provides guidance and oversight to team members; may serve in a team lead role.
