Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Sr. Grant Administrator to join the Voices for Healthy Kids team. This home-based role coordinates strategic grant operations, budgets, and reporting across multiple departments to ensure timely, compliant grant delivery.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives, manage budgets, and engage internal and external partners to drive impact. This is a senior role with potential team leadership responsibilities and strong emphasis on operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of meaningful experience.
• Strong skills in budgeting, grant management, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Integrates grant requirements into the program and monitors processes; develops and maintains internal records and systems to support program management; monitors budgets and spending, and reports on variances and forecasts.
• Coordinates program budget development and facilitation with leadership teams, ensuring alignment with funder expectations and internal controls.
• Monitor budgets and expenditures, analyze financial activity, provide variance reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation guidance.
• Coordinates work with internal stakeholders across finance, legal, operations, development, advocacy, and business technology to follow policy.
• Develop and maintain internal systems, controls, and documentation for audit readiness and program management.
• Act as the Voices technology coordinator, partnering with Business Technologies to optimize systems for grantmaking and reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal teams, external partners, and grantees for high‑quality outcomes.
• Lead or contribute to cross‑functional initiatives requiring coordination, analysis, and change management.
• Contributes to operational planning for grant-making with innovation and system enhancements.
• Provide guidance and oversight to team members; may serve as team lead or coach.
