The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a grants and contracts accountant to provide financial, accounting and administrative support for post-award activities across sponsored programs.

The role involves preparing reports, invoicing sponsors, managing budget reallocations and ensuring compliance with sponsor and regulatory requirements. Ideal candidates have a degree in accounting and several years of grant-focused experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in grant accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare external financial reports according to agency guidelines on a monthly basis.
• Prepare journal entries and cost transfers for project accounts as needed.
• Create monthly invoices for submission to external sponsoring agencies.
• Reconcile payroll suspense and support time and effort reporting.
• Close out assigned grants and contracts and prepare for annual audits.
• Ensure compliance with federal OMB Uniform Guidance and sponsor requirements.
