Job summary

Adams County Colorado is seeking a skilled Grant Administrator to perform a wide range of accounting and financial tasks within the Head Start department. The role involves trend analysis, grant regulation evaluation, and monitoring expenditures to ensure budgetary compliance and audit readiness.

Responsibilities include developing grant budgets, preparing CAP, monthly reports, EAs and BIS, and coordinating with state monitors.

Qualifications

• Four years of Grant Administration, Finance, Budgeting, or related experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting.
• Experience with GAAP and fiscal reporting.
• Ability to prepare complex fiscal reports and budgets.
• Knowledge of grant regulations and compliance.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain grant budgeting and tracking systems.
• Lead annual grant budget preparation for Director and BOCC.
• Prepare grant Cost Allocation Plan (CAP).
• Monitor CAP accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare monthly fiscal and budget reports for oversight boards.
• Prepare Expenditure Authorizations (EAs) and BIS.
• Advise grant administrator on Annual State Plan.
• Ensure expenditures stay within budget.
• Provide monthly expense reports to grant administrator and supervisors.
• Coordinate with external monitors and auditors.
• Champion improvements to internal controls and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.
