Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis on research and writing; preferably in grants development or journalism, communications, marketing public administration, public health, political science, or related field is required.
• Five (5) years progressive work experience in foundation/fund development or related field is required.
• Experience in direct sourcing, solicitation and securing grant funding, asking for and closing of gifts and building/maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents, aimed at a higher level of funding is required.
• Experience interacting with high level Fresno community leaders and influencers, senior leadership and executive board within a community benefit organization, preferably a hospital is required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including editing, electronic and social media, and computer efficiency is required.
• Flexibilityandwillingnesstoworkwithenergytoaccomplishgivengoalsare required

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to source, identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective grants.
• Prepare gift proposals and agreements and track donor and prospect interactions.
• Submit funding applications to foundations, organizations, and government entities.
• Identify programmatic and capital needs aligned with Philanthropic priorities.
• Manage an active portfolio of prospects using the donor database.
• Collaborate with SAMC donor community, administrative leadership, and community stakeholders.
