CommUnityCare Health Centers seeks a Sr. Manager, Grants to lead funding initiatives and manage the grants portfolio across service lines. You will balance multiple proposals, deadlines, and staff while ensuring compliance with grant regulations.

You will oversee a grants administration team, educate staff on policies, and liaise with funders to strengthen partnerships and funding opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight for HRSA Health Center Program funding and related grants.
  • Manages and monitors over $17 million in federal, state, local, and private funding.
  • Supervises Grants Management staff and fosters professional growth.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on grant regulations and funding opportunities.
  • Sources reports from Finance, Project Management, BI, and other programs for timely submissions.
  • Ensures grant expenses align with budgets and reports.
  • Maintains strongRelationships with funding agencies and grantors.
  • Develops and improves grants management policies and internal controls.
  • Builds partnerships with internal stakeholders and external organizations to support funding goals.
  • Monitors local, state, and federal regulations impacting grant funding.
  • Oversees grants management systems to track engagements, proposals, awards, and reporting.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned in senior grants management role.

Job description

The Sr. Manager, Grants is responsible for CommUnityCare's Health Center funding and operating support grants for several service lines. The position requires the Sr. Manager, Grants to balance multiple projects, proposals and deadlines and maintain high awareness of the internal workings of the organization to identify funding opportunities. Responsibilities include managing overall grant efforts, preparing progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, and educating staff on policies and procedures for grant awards. This position will support a grant administration team including a grants manager, specialists, and coordinator.

Essential Functions
  • Provides strategic leadership and oversight for the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Health
  • Center Program funding, ensuring compliance with all program requirements, including timely scope updates and performance reporting.
  • Supports a high-performing grants team responsible for administering over $17 million in federal, state, local, and private funding.
  • Supervises, mentors, and develops Grants Management staff, including Grants Manager(s), Specialists, and Coordinator, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to leadership on grant regulations, compliance requirements, and funding opportunities.
  • Sources reports from various departments - including Finance, Project Management, Business Intelligence, and other programs - to ensure timely submission of required information.
  • Verifies alignment of grant expenses with the grant budgets and reports, as provided by the Finance team.
  • Acts as the primary liaison between the organization and funding agencies, cultivating strong relationships and ensuring effective communication with grantors.
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of grants management policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure full compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders, community organizations, governmental entities, and external partners to support organizational funding goals.
  • Monitors and interprets local, state, and federal regulations impacting grant funding, ensuring organizational awareness and proactive compliance.
  • Oversees the effective utilization of grants management systems and tools to track funder engagement, proposals, awards, and reporting requirements, ensuring data integrity and accountability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and responsibilities of a Senior Grants
  • Management role.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimum supervision; to maintain quality control standards; to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions in a clear, concise, and proactive manner, including recognition and resolution of costly errors. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work responsibilities to insure completion of assigned tasks as scheduled.
  • Preferred experience with FQHC grant processes and Health Resources and Services Administration(HRSA).
Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Business Administration , Accounting, Public Policy, Public Health, or a related field

Minimum Experience
  • 5 years experience managing cross-functional grants and/or programs for governmental or non- governmental organizations Required
  • 2 years Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing a team Required
