Job summary

Saint Agnes Medical Center seeks a grants development professional to source, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective funders for SAMC programs, services, and capital campaigns.

The role focuses on developing proposals, identifying funding needs, and maintaining long-term relationships with foundations, corporations, and government entities, in collaboration with senior leadership and the donor community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis on research and writing, preferably grants development or journalism, communications, marketing, public administration, public health, political science, or related field.
• Five (5) years progressive work experience in foundation/fund development or related field is required.
• Experience in direct sourcing, solicitation and securing grant funding, asking for and closing of gifts and building/maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents, aimed at a higher level of funding.
• Experience interacting with Fresno community leaders and influencers, senior leadership and executive board within a community benefit organization, preferably a hospital.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including editing, electronic and social media, and computer efficiency.
• Flexibility and willingness to work with energy to accomplish given goals.
• Must demonstrate Saint Agnes Core Values; reverence, commitment to those experiencing poverty, justice, stewardship, integrity, and safety.
• Proficient in working discreetly with highly sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Develop and submit funding proposals to foundations, organizations, and government entities.
• Identify programmatic and capital needs in alignment with philanthropic priorities.
• Utilize donor database to manage a portfolio of prospects and track donor interactions.
• Collaborate with SAMC donor community, administrative leadership, and community stakeholders.
• Establish annual grant-writing goals with the Chief Development Officer to support philanthropic revenue goals.
