Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in McLean, VA, seeks a Senior Support Engineer (GovOps) to join the Cleared Engineering team. You will address advanced escalations across Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, and OS internals within GovCloud and air-gapped environments.

You will craft Python/Bash/Go tooling, conduct live troubleshooting, and lead incident response while ensuring FedRAMP High and ITAR/IL5 compliance, with on-site work at a secure facility.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in Systems Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Senior Support Engineering, DevSecOps, or related tech ops.
• Deep expertise in Linux/Unix, networking, debugging, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go, or Java with code reading and scripting.
• Experience managing cloud infra across public or federal boundaries (AWS GovCloud, Azure Gov, or GCP).
• Solid knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) and container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• 3+ years writing clear technical communications (reports, incident summaries).
• On-site work at McLean, VA SCIF, with on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Handle the most complex platform escalations across Compute, Networking, Storage, IAM, and OS internals.
• Triage defects, perform root-cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes with product engineering.
• Write and adapt Python, Bash, or Go scripts to automate triage and recovery in restricted environments.
• Lead technical triage and live incident response during high-consequence events.
• Review IaC configurations and patch deployments to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure adherence to FedRAMP High, ITAR/IL5, and federal security standards.
