Scale AI, Inc. is seeking a Contract Manager to support our commercial and public sector teams in Washington, DC. You will review, draft, and negotiate agreements, refine workflows, and scale the legal function across cross-functional partners.

The role requires top‑secret clearance, 5+ years in contracts, and knowledge of FAR/DFARS. Experience with Ironclad and government contracting processes is preferred; base salary range is $138,400–$173,000 USD. Competitive benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Experience with a wide array of legal documents and contractual agreements, including NDAs, task orders, modifications, prime contracts, vendor agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Experience working with contract lifecycle management tools such as Ironclad.
• Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of experience as a contracts manager, paralegal, or similar experience.
• Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and other agency supplements.
• Knowledge of government contract and subcontract processes including flow downs, change management, inspection, acceptance, payment, warranty, close‑out and records retention.
• Experience with Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) terms and mitigation plans.
• A roll‑up your sleeves attitude to tackle projects large and small and a collaborative, low‑ego approach to collaborating across the organization

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and administer government contracts lifecycle management processes and systems.
• Negotiate and administer agreements between Scale and our customers, subcontractors, and vendors ensuring adherence to company policies and government regulations.
• Respond to inquiries from our customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Maintain Scale registration, reporting, and disclosures in government systems such as SAM.gov, PIEE, CPARS, etc.
• Work closely with public sector legal teams to manage and improve our contracting processes, including contract management systems and contracts signature systems
• Guide stakeholders in self-serve contracting processes as well as directly negotiate NDAs, task orders, modifications, prime contracts, vendor agreements, and other agreements
• Partner with cross functional partners to track ongoing obligations post-signature
• Document fulfillment of contract milestones/deliverables, invoices and cash collection.
• Support the business and legal team members on legal review for customer questionnaires, security questionnaires, and a variety of other customer-driven requests.
• Help build and maintain internal processes, resources, and tools to help scale the legal function.
