Job summary

Scale seeks a Contract Manager to support our commercial and public sector teams in Washington, DC. You will review, draft, and negotiate agreements, refine workflows, and manage contract data to improve efficiency across the legal function.

You will interact with customers, subcontractors, and vendors, maintaining registrations in SAM.gov, PIEE, and CPARS, while aligning with government regulations and Scale policies. This role requires strong negotiation and process-oriented skills.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance or ability/willingness to apply.
• Experience with NDAs, task orders, modifications, prime contracts, vendor agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Experience with contract lifecycle management tools such as Ironclad.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of experience as a contracts manager, paralegal, or similar experience.
• Knowledge of the FAR, DFARS, and other agency supplements.
• Knowledge of government contract and subcontract processes including flow downs, change management, inspection, acceptance, payment, warranty, close-out and records retention.
• Experience with Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) terms and mitigation plans.
• Roll-up your sleeves attitude to tackle projects large and small and a collaborative, low-ego approach to collaborating across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and administer government contracts lifecycle management processes and systems.
• Negotiate and administer agreements between Scale and our customers, subcontractors, and vendors ensuring adherence to company policies and government regulations.
• Respond to inquiries from our customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Maintain Scale registration, reporting, and disclosures in government systems such as SAM.gov, PIEE, CPARS, etc.
• Work closely with public sector legal teams to manage and improve our contracting processes, including contract management systems and contracts signature systems
• Guide stakeholders in self-serve contracting processes as well as directly negotiate NDAs, task orders, modifications, prime contracts, vendor agreements, and other agreements
• Partner with cross functional partners to track ongoing obligations post-signature
• Document fulfillment of contract milestones/deliverables, invoices and cash collection.
• Support the business and legal team members on legal review for customer questionnaires, security questionnaires, and a variety of other customer-driven requests.
• Help build and maintain internal processes, resources, and tools to help scale the legal function.
