Job summary

Quicknode is a cloud-based infrastructure company powering the blockchain ecosystem. We seek a senior engineer who designs, builds, and improves distributed systems in Go and Rust to support our high-throughput infrastructure across 80+ networks.

The role involves ownership from design through production, mentoring peers, and raising the bar for security, performance, and reliability. Global remote team with offices in Fort Lauderdale and Lisbon.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or distributed systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Go and Rust with production shipping experience.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms, data structures, concurrency, memory safety and production software architecture.
• Experience with blockchain infrastructure, high-throughput APIs, node or RPC infrastructure, data-streaming pipelines.
• Experience applying secure-design principles, threat modeling, and disciplined testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to lead cross-team projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high‑throughput, low‑latency backend services in Go and Rust.
• Own production Go services and Rust components, including architecture, interfaces, testing, deployment, and operation.
• Architect distributed systems that ingest and serve blockchain data with strong consistency and availability.
• Own end-to-end technical work from requirements to post‑production improvements.
• Profile and optimize systems for throughput, latency, and resource efficiency under load.
• Assess security risks and design controls protecting transactions and data.
• Lead reviews, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards across teams.
