Job summary

Quicknode is hiring a senior backend engineer who designs, builds, and owns high-throughput Go services and Rust components for our blockchain infrastructure. You will lead architecture, implement efficiency and security, and mentor peers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a globally distributed, remote-friendly environment.

You will own complex systems end to end, drive performance improvements, and help set engineering standards across the Blockchain Infrastructure team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend/distributed systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Go and Rust with production experience in each language.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, memory safety, and production software architecture.
• Proven track record delivering reliable, scalable systems and improving performance.
• Experience with blockchain infrastructure, high-throughput APIs, or similar distributed platforms.
• Experience with secure design, threat modeling, and disciplined testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to lead cross-team projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-throughput, low-latency backend services in Go and Rust.
• Own production Go services and Rust components end-to-end.
• Architect distributed systems for blockchain data with consistency, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and establish engineering standards.
• Profile and optimize production systems for throughput and latency.
• Address security risks and design controls for data integrity.
• Debug complex failures across services and drive root-cause fixes.
• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Developer Experience teams.
• Translate customer needs into maintainable systems.
