Job summary

Quicknode is seeking a senior individual contributor to design, build, and improve distributed systems that ingest, process, and serve blockchain data at scale, working across Go and Rust.

You will own production services end to end, mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and help set engineering standards adopted across teams, collaborating with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Developer Experience to raise reliability, performance, and security.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating backend or distributed systems in high-scale production environments.
• Advanced proficiency in both Go and Rust, with demonstrated production shipping and operation experience in each language.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, algorithms, concurrency, memory safety, databases, networking, OS, and architecture.
• A track record of delivering reliable, scalable systems with measurable improvements.
• Experience with blockchain infrastructure, high-throughput APIs, node or RPC infrastructure, or similar distributed platforms.
• Experience applying secure-design principles, threat modeling, and disciplined testing in critical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to lead cross-team projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize high-throughput, low-latency backend services and data-processing systems in Go and Rust for production blockchain infrastructure.
• Own production Go services and Rust components, including architecture, interfaces, concurrency, testing, deployment, and observability.
• Architect distributed systems that ingest, process, validate, and serve blockchain data with strong guarantees of consistency and availability.
• Own end-to-end technical work, including requirements, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and incident response.
• Profile and benchmark production systems to identify bottlenecks and improve throughput, latency, and resource efficiency.
• Assess security risks and design or review controls to protect transactions, data, credentials, and integrity.
• Debug complex failures across services, databases, streaming systems, networks, and blockchain nodes; drive root-cause fixes.
• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and Developer Experience teams to translate requirements into maintainable systems.
• Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, document decisions, and establish engineering standards.
