Job summary

Hidden Jobs is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a team building services for a cloud analytics platform that ingests data at petabyte scale. You will own the design and implementation of scalable distributed systems and contribute to architecture decisions to improve performance and reliability.

The role involves integrating streaming platforms and object storage, operating in a remote-friendly, globally distributed team, and participating in on-call rotations to maintain production

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of Go and its ecosystem.
• Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant systems with concurrency and failure recovery.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider.
• Experience diagnosing production issues in distributed systems.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate across engineering and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve integrations with streaming platforms and object storage (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub, S3, GCS, Azure).
• Continuously improve systems based on operational metrics, customer feedback, and evolving business requirements.
• Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions affecting platform scalability and resilience.
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and respond to production incidents.
