Job summary

Future is building a personalized guidance system for lifelong health. We are seeking a Backend Engineer to design, implement, and optimize APIs, while maintaining systems and collaborating across teams.

You will be involved in on-call rotations and help drive scalable infrastructure in a fast-moving startup environment. Strong experience with Go, AWS, Docker (ECS) and PostgreSQL is required, along with a track record of shipping reliable backend services and applying testing and monitoring

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production development experience, backend/API
• Strong knowledge of Go, AWS, Docker (ECS) and Postgres (RDS)
• Proven software quality measures during development (unit/integration testing, monitoring, alerting)
• Experience managing Docker-based microservice architecture
• Experience in fast-moving startup environment; adaptable to shifting priorities
• Nice to have: ETL experience and optimized database performance

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test APIs for new products, features, and services
• Maintain and optimize existing systems, with emphasis on database-related performance
• Collaborate with other engineers across the stack and cross-functional stakeholders
• Keep up to date with technologies and best practices, and encourage others to do so
• Serve as on-call engineer approximately one week per month, triaging issues during non-working hours
