Job summary

Remitly seeks a Senior People Compliance Manager to own global compliance programs, policies, and controls across geographies. You will partner with Legal, People, and business leaders to assess risk, set standards, and drive compliant execution from hiring to offboarding.

You will build governance, create roadmaps and audits, deliver training across jurisdictions, and use automation to streamline processes while staying ahead of regulatory changes in the global employment landscape.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in HR compliance or a related regulatory role.
• Deep knowledge of US labor/employment law and regulatory obligations.
• Experience managing multi-obligation project plans with audit readiness.
• Drafting and maintaining employee policies for multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience operating compliance controls inside an HRIS.
• Experience with internal audit compliance.
• Background check programs and contingent workforce classification.
• Track record of building multi-state US and global HR compliance programs.
• Excellent judgment and ability to explain regulations clearly.
• Hands-on or strong cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Advise the business on People compliance risk and policy areas.
• Monitor evolving labor/employment law across Remitly's global footprint.
• Own the global People policy library and related documents.
• Own compliance across the employee lifecycle from hiring to offboarding.
• Design roadmaps, audit calendars, escalation pathways, and reporting for leadership.
• Prepare compliance metrics and risk dashboards for leadership teams.
• Deliver mandatory trainings across jurisdictions and coordinate with Payroll on reporting.
• Apply AI and automation to streamline compliance tasks.
